In this class, Gul will introduce participants to the world of natural dyeing and teach them how to create prints using immersion dyeing techniques. Participants will make a printed cellulose scarf using natural materials and food waste. The class will cover topics such as extracting colors from plants for dyeing and how different mordants can achieve a variety of colors. By the end of the class, participants will understand the accessibility of dye materials derived from food waste and will learn how to extract colors for dyeing their textiles.

This workshop is taught in English by Gul E Raana, originally from Punjab, Pakistan, and the founder of Wenlin Studio — a brand dedicated to embroideries and natural dyeing.

Materials: All the materials for this workshop will be provided.

Requirements: participants must be over 14 years old. This workshop is taught in English.

Withdrawals/refunds: the registration fee will be refunded to students who for some reason cannot participate in the workshop and communicate their withdrawal up to ten days before the workshop date.

Please note: The workshop will only take place if a minimum of three people sign up to participate. If we don’t reach the minimum attendance of three participants five days before the date of the workshop, the workshop will be canceled and any participants who had signed up will be contacted for a refund or rescheduling (if possible).

While executing embroideries, it is only natural that the artisans interpret the sketched design and the mock-up embroideries in their unique way and leave a stamp of their own personalities on the product. We believe that these slight differences in our products is a desirable trait, but if you are not happy with your purchase, we will accept returns. We request you to send us an email at info@wenlinstudiolondon.co.uk explaining the reason for your return within 7 days after you receive your package. Please remember to also provide us with your name, your address and your order number. After your request has been approved, we will send you an email authorizing you to send us back the products. The email will also include the appropriate instructions and destination address. The products must be received unused and in their original packaging.

Please note that you will be responsible for the shipping cost as well as the duties and taxes on your return.
