Our Story

Wenlin Studio, founded by Gul in 2019 in London, UK, and now incubated at Startup Barreiro in Lisbon, Portugal, is a socially conscious project dedicated to advancing sustainable fashion and textile embellishment practices. Our mission is to preserve traditional textile embellishment techniques while adopting a responsible, contemporary approach. By collaborating with communities worldwide, we empower artisans, revitalize their crafts, and enhance their economic viability through thoughtful design. Our current collection features hand-embroidered handbags and naturally dyed textiles. We use handmade cotton khadi produced by artisans in Kamalia and repurpose leftover fabrics into patchwork kits and one-of-a-kind clothing. Our hand embroideries are crafted in Punjab, Pakistan, then finished and packaged in Lisbon, Portugal, before being distributed globally through online platforms and specialty boutiques.
