Embroidery Kits: Explore the Needlework of Indus Valley

We’re excited to introduce a new collection of four embroidery kits inspired by the ancient Indus Valley region and South Asian traditions - one of the world’s oldest urban civilizations, which flourished over 4,000 years ago in what is now Pakistan and India.
Each kit in this collection is designed and test-embroidered by Gul in her Lisbon studio. Two of these kit designs are also available in limited-edition version which includes Phulkari pouches, hand-embroidered by women artisans in Punjab, Pakistan.
The printed linens in the kits are naturally dyed with madder root and cutch - both historically used to dye textiles in the Indus Valley region. The kits are made and shipped from our studio in Startup Barreiro, Portugal.
This collection honors the legacy of South Asian needlework and dyeing traditions. We take great pride in reviving techniques that are no longer widely practiced and in preserving them with historical care and accuracy.
