We had a very interesting morning learning about the history of Kantha/ Gindi embroidery and how it was used to up cycle old clothes and make them into new useable products. Participants made small drawstring pouches with naturally dyed rags and embroidery threads. Class was guided and taught by Gul E Raana. Some snippets of the class below:     

We had so much fun creating beautiful scarves with natural dyes with a wonderful group and later embellishing them with Kantha stitching in Barcelona today. Sharing some snippets of the event here.

As a conscious business, we realize that our participation in the market must not generate excessive waste. Everyone is facing the dangers of climate change and unless we take conscious steps to help, the dangers that our planet face will only increase.

As things are starting to open up, there is a new wave of anticipation settling in. Emotions are unraveling about what to buy and what experiences to look for. Finding the balance in the convenience of working from the living room and to getting ready for the glamour of being out and about in 2021 is becoming a new normal.

Today we are celebrating all the amazing women that are behind the Wenlin Studio project.

Wenlin Studio was at booth 3 with many of our pouch bags sold out. The Gerbera Daisies, Moonlit Rose and Wild Leaves designs were the most popular of the show. The amazing crowd was conscious about the environment and very eager to know the story behind the embroideries. It was a fun-filled event where we made many new friends, equally enthusiastic about hand embroidery.
